Master Cleanse(Lemonade Diet) Real Day One

So today was my actual start on the Master Cleanse aka the Lemonade Diet, and it really hasn't been that bad...I don't even really feel hungry so that hasn't been a problem. The mixture of lemon juice, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper isn't bad either. However, the salt water flush this morning was a different thing. It was really hard to get down, and once it was down my stomach was burning, then I vomited. So no more salt water flush for me, the creator of the master cleanse says taht it is suffice to drink the laxative tea at night and in the morning in lieu of the salt water flush, I think i am going to take that route. Stats are the same as yesterday....

I Start My Journey Today

So I have temporarily found a use for this blog.....I've decided to start the master cleanse so I am going to use this blog temporarily to journal my weight and bmi stats, cravings, side effects and other things that I experience on the cleanse. In case most aren't familiar with what the master cleanse is, it is a diet/detox of sorts where you drink a lemonade concotion for a minimum of 10 days, and don't eat anything else.. I am going to do it for 21 days so wish me luck!!
Before Cleanse Stats:
BMI:28.14
Weight: 149

Why Must I Have to Deal with Uneducated Fools?

So yesterday I had to work, unfortunately. But, on an upside I got to learn how incredibly ignorant some of the people I work with really are.

First the topic was my cell phones, and cell phone insurance. I previously worked for a major U.S. carrier and I know how it works. My co-workers then proceeded to tell me how stupid it was that you have to pay a deductible when you use the insurance, and how you don't get a brand new phone. Maybe I would have understood their logic if we all didn't work for an insurance company. They sounded so completely hypocritical considering the amount of calls that they take everyday from people who don't want to pay for their deductibles and who want the price that they paid for their car, not what their car is currently worth when it was totaled. I was thinking to myself, "God, you idiots, weren't you paying attention when you were in training"? The point of insurance is to indemnify you. Meaning putting back in the same position that you were prior to your loss. Cell phones depreciate too, so giving you a brand new cell phone, after the one that you've had for 2 years gets wet, would not be indemnifying you.

The second topic for the ignoramuses was my relationship and how apparently you shouldn't acquire any friends after you are in a relationship and if you have any friends of the opposite sex that you had before you entered a relationship, you should cut down on your contact with them. And if you don't do the aforementioned things you are "cheating" on your significant other. So according to them I have cheated on my boyfriend of 3 years by doing the aforementioned things. Firstly, why would anyone want to be in a relationship where you can't be friends with someone just because they have opposite genitals than you have? Why would you want to be in a relationship where you are so insanely jealous and afraid that if your significant was friends with a person of the opposite sex they would cheat on you? But, according to them, I am also supposed to limit my time with my friends of the opposite sex that I have known since before I was potty-trained, to prevent the "temptation" of cheating on my boyfriend. I couldn't believe that these people were actually serious.

The third topic of discussion was outsourcing. The idiots were trying to argue that it was the people of India's fault that American jobs were being lost. I wish someone would have been there to see the look on my face when I heard that one. So let me get this straight, it is the Indians faults that American companies are cost cutting and outsourcing? I mean seriously, what the hell? And also, they believed that the Indian people just aren't very smart. Right now I am fairly certain that they are much more smarter than the people that I work with. The people of India are very intelligent, and highly educated, the issue is that when the American companies outsource, they poorly train them for the jobs that they will be performing, which is not a fault of the people of India. They also believed that it was ok to blame them because they represent the companies and therefore they should take it out on them. No idiots, it is not okay to blame them because they do not represent the companies, the executives that run the companies represent the company and they are the ones who make the decision to outsource. The people of India are simply doing what we here are doing--trying to make a living. They also argued that the companies are not outsourcing to cut costs, but to piss off their customers. How could that even be a feasible argument? When any company goes into business, their main objectives are to make a profit, and to maximize their profit. They do this by cutting costs, increasing market share, and attracting and retaining customers. Companies usual goals are not pissing off their customers and making them go to competitors. If this was the case, Dell, who outsourced their customer service operations a few years ago, would not be trying to bring their customer service operations back stateside.

The next topic was animal cruelty I suppose. Somehow it got on the subject of the way to end a suffering animal's life. An the argument was that shooting an animal that is suffering is humane. I could maybe understand this thinking if we lived in a rural area or if we lived in a different time period maybe 10-20 years ago. But not in this day and age, and not if you live in a city, is shooting an animal that is suffering ever a humane option. There are too many vets, and animal shelters around here that can humanly euthanize an animal that is "suffering". But no, according to the Idiot Resolution Center, if you shoot the animal "the right way", then it isn't inhumane. If that is the case, why is Michael Vick being charged with a crime for shooting dogs to death. Oh, I forgot, the same idiots who believe that shooting animals execution style is humane believe that Michael Vick should do hard time for shooting dogs execution style. What a bunch of hypocrites.

The last topic of discussion was probably the one that upset me the least out of all of them, but it is still noteworthy. The buying experience of buying a Ford vs. a BMW. The argument was that all of the car manufacturers are all in alliance to the experience of going into a Ford Dealership and a BMW Dealership are the same thing. And get this, Mercedes owns BMW. Yeah, ok. What the hell kind of sense did that statement make. I know, none at all. But this ignoramus insisted that Mercedes owned BMW. What a fucking idiot.(Sorry for the profanity)

In conclusion, for some reason I can't ever help but to be amazed with the amount of pure ignorance and stupidity that is in our society. Most would say that we have some many technological advancements, and more people are going to college, and more people are educated but the horrendous display of stupidity at my workplace today makes me beg to differ. I don't know how I will go to work on Monday with these people, but I guess I have to do what I have to do to make money. The question I'm asking myself now is if people are educated at the secondary level, does that allow them to engage in more intelligent discourse? I will have to ponder on this one for a while.

Who Am I?

Hi,

I'm new to this whole blogging thing but I have been contemplating starting a blog for a very long time. I have found myself constantly frustrated with the ignorance of my friends and family, and decided that I needed some kind of public means of expressing my ideas and opinions and hopefully have them read and reviewed by some people who enjoy intelligent discourse.(Sorry for the run-on sentence) So I created this blog. Here you will find my opinion on politics, education, pop-culture, and current events. You will also find here random ramblings when I have been angered by one of the many people in my life.

I guess I should probably say something about myself. I am a 20 years old, and a junior at a well-known Jesuit University. I live in the midwest, and am mostly surrounded by my roommate, boyfriend, and a host of friends. In my spare time I like to read, play video games, watch tv, shop, and protest.

Why the name Angry College Chick? Well, let's see. I'm a chick, angry, and in college. What am I angry about? Alot of things. Most of which you all will have the pleasure of reading about in this blog.

So in closing, I hope that people will read this thing, and any feedback will be greatly appreciated.
